Salvador de Madariaga

Salvador de Madariaga y Rojo (La Coruña, 23 de julio de 1886-Locarno, 14 de diciembre de 1978) fue un diplomático y escritor español, ministro en 1934 de Instrucción Pública y Bellas Artes y de Justicia de la Segunda República. De pensamiento liberal y europeísta, se exilió tras el inicio de la guerra civil en el Reino Unido. Durante la Guerra Fría fue un activo militante en contra del comunismo soviético, así como un opositor de la dictadura franquista; solo retornó a España tras la muerte de Franco. Miembro de número de la Real Academia Española y la Real Academia de Ciencias Morales y Políticas, como escritor cultivó diversos géneros: ensayo histórico y político, crítica literaria, novela, biografía y poesía.
