Edition Notes

The Sotheby Catalogue describes this work as the first edition, with title-page wrongly dated 1760; B.L. states that it was first published in 1760; the NUC 1766 copy most closely corresponding to the Percy copy, (in that it has 'Mr. Kenrick' on title-page), also has '2nd. ed.'; according to DNB two issues appeared in 1766; only one of the 1766 copies listed in NUC mentions the edition.

Half-title leaf reads: 'Falstaff's Wedding: A Comedy'.
