There are no diaries for the years 1892, 1895-1898; v.6 with cover date of 1893 has entries by General Bidwell on Jan. 6-7, & July 17 then follow entries by Mrs. Bidwell for various years, 1895, 1898-1900 and accounts from 1893-1900. V.7a covering the dates of January 1-June 11, 1901 is photocopy of original and transcription held by the Meriam Library at CSU Chico.

Annie was born in Meadville, Pennsylvania. In 1849, her family moved to Washington, D.C. where her father worked on the 1st census, and, eventually, was appointed Superintendent of the Census. Was well educated, deeply religious and deeply involved in various charitable activities (work with poor, nursing during Civil War). Met John Bidwell in Washington and was married in 1868. Returned with John to ranch in Chico. Continued involvement with various charities and causes (prohibition, votes for women, Indian welfare, etc.)
