The first study in many decades directly concerning the concept of possession and protection of ownership rights, the work examines these issues in the context of the 1994 Civil Code of the Russian Federation and how it is being put into practice. The book also contains a detailed historical analysis of ownership rights protection in pre-revolutionary Russia and in foreign, including Anglo-American, law. The lengthy appendix includes texts of relevant statutes.
