Chikka is an eleven year old boy who lives in a small village in India. In celebration of a good harvest, Chikka and his family enjoy an outing to the city. Dazzled by the sights and sounds of the big city, Chikka finds life in the village increasingly difficult and yearns - like boys his age the world over - for adventure and excitement. He runs away to Bangalore, where, with the help of an old man, he finds a job as house boy with a lively family of four.
