Holograph, signed
Title devised by cataloger
On verso, the delivery address is "Rev. Amos A. Phelps, Farmington, Ct." It was postmarked with a circular orange stamp that reads "Brooklyn CT" and surrounds the date "April 9."
Boston Public Library (Rare Books Department) manuscript composed in black ink on white, lined paper. Under the salutation, the number "22" is written in pencil. After the signature, there is a note that reads "Dividend at Bank to be sent on if do not hear fr. T. in two or three weeks Inquiries above to be made & sent to him." recorded in pencil and in another handwriting. On the fourth page there is a small red seal, mostly covered by paper, and a hole extending about 1 cm from the fore edge of the page
George Jeffrey Tillotson writes to Amos A. Phelps informing him that he has sent a letter for him to Boston where he requests Phelps "to pay the principal of your note this spring." Tillotson again refers to the letter and asks Phelps to inquire about investing in the "National Insurance Co." based in Boston. He then provides a summary of the payments Phelps has made to him and tells him about his travel plans for the coming week before continuing to discuss his investments
