This book teaches beginning German language through pictures only; the only clue you get to the meaning of new words are the pictures and the context of the story. Starting with "Ich bin ein Mann" ("I am a man") next to a stick drawing of a man, the book progresses in an ingenious and systematic way to teach "700 of the most widely useful words in the new language". The same author wrote similar books for other target languages such as English and Spanish.
