"The Madcap Duchess," a comic opera in two acts, the book and lyrics by David Stevens and Justin Huntly McCarthy, the music by Victor Herbert. Includes pictures of scenes from the play, comments from the New York press, comments from the Boston press, story of the opera and reproductions of sheet music and lyrics to selected music from the opera including: "Aurora, Blushing Rosily," "Love and I are Playing," "The Pledge," "Tweedledum and Tweedledee," "Love is a Story That's Old," "That is Art," "Babette of Beaujolais," "The Star of Love," "Winged Love," "Far Up the Hill," and "Do You Know?" published by G. Schirmer, Boston.
