George Jeffrey Tillotson writes to Amos A. Phelps about some of the trouble between the Unitarians and Orthodox in the Athol. He discusses the "enemies of evangelical religion" and the "most illiberal [and] mean measures" they have used at town meetings. Tillotson tells Phelps to "Pray for us. We stand in great need of t[he] silent but effectual influence of God's spirit." Tillotson also mentions an invititation to preach in Berlin, Connecticut, that he was unable to accept.
