Poems inspired by the Metropolitan Opera performance of Prokofiev's adaptation of Tolstoy's War and Peace that suggest a lyric dialogue on the theme of homeland.

Includes colored intaglio prints, designed in the style of Russian palekh painting.

Poems printed in violet and blue type faces on facing pages; titles printed in black typefaces.

Issued in navy blue clamshell case (30 cm.) covered and lined with blue linen cloth. Design of a bird and title and author statements stamped and lettered in silver on front cover.

Subtitle and statement of responsibilities on p. [1], first group.

Contains one sheet in accordion fold format (26 x 432 cm.) with six etchings on Rives lightweight white papers and two silkscreen images on tracing paper sewn with white thread between folds. Front and back leaf mounted on two boards, covered with with white silk; front cover illustrated with blue design of a bird from a block printed created by Ruth Wolfson, Rebecca's great grandmother.

On colophon: Book made in Providence, Rhode Island during the summer of 2002 ... under [the direction] of Michael S. Harper and Walter Feldman. It was designed and printed by Rebecca Bella Wangh on Brown University and Rhode Island School of Design printing presses [and] the Karl Schrag press in Deer Isle, Maine. The text was set in 12 pt. Garamond by Kent LeFebvre in Holyoke, Massachusetts, and the box was made by Portfolio Box Inc. of Providence, Rhode Island. This book was published in an edition of twelve. This is number [blank] of 12.
