Jack Donovan is something of a media celebrity. An unconventional sculptor with a tragic past, he copes with his blindness by using close friends and colleagues as his 'eyes'. Joanna Guthrie, visiting from England, is intrigued by Donovan. Dividing his time between his upstate art school and an apartment in the heart of Manhattan, Jack is something of an enigma to Joanna. She has come to teach him to work with a new guide dog - but not everyone is pleased by Joanna's presence.
