For family reasons Sister Emma Sandiford decided to return home from London to Lancanshire, taking up a post on the cardiac ward at Forrestall Hospital. Simon Warwick was noted as a brilliant cardiac surgeon, but notoriously short-tempered, and it wasn't long before he and Emma clashed. Oddly, he respected her more, and their working relationship slid into warmth and friendship. Emma thought there was more, but something was holding Simon back.
