A late 40's British poison-pen mystery: "When an old woman who spied on and sent threatening letters to her neighbors is found murdered, nearly the whole village of Inching Round become suspects." Goodreads. This is the first mystery by Aussie-born Max Murray who moved to England sometime in the 30's and worked for the BBC during WWII. He is considered a late "Golden Age" writer.
