First Sentence

"Terry Crompton started the day with a bad dream about his father being killed. It had occurred many times since his father had really been killed in an automobile accident the year before. His mother felt it was best for them to leave their home in Wisconsin and move to Illinois close to her parents. Adjustment to a large city had been difficult for Terry, expecially the school he attended. The values that his father had taught him conflicted with the atmosphere at Roosevelt Elementary. Terry survived the first part of the school year by minding his own business. Tery wished he could run away and go back to his old school in Wisconsin where the kids cared about each other, but then he realized that he just had to accept where he was and make the best of it. How will Terry handle the class bully, Richard Cassius, someetimes called "The Animal," who threatens physical violence to get his way? Will Terry maintain the values his father instilled in him or will he succumb to peer pressure?"
