Edition Notes

This is an swesome book! However I have an orginal hard copy of, "The Hand-book Of Artillery, For The Service Of The United States dated 1863." It is in great conditon with no torn or damaged pages. The front cover has two gold cannons criscrossing each other, with a stack of six cannon balls stacked between the base of the two cannons, and one cannon ball flying through the air, directly away from the viewer. This extremely historical book has a publishing date of 1863, New York, USA.

This book (Artillery Service Manual) is the heartland of American history as it goes on to explain just how and why the cannon is extremely vital in American warfare among ground troops.

The book also covers the Howitzers, mortars, Sea Coast Artillery, Siege Artillery, Field Guns and Field Batteries, Pointing Guns and Howitzers, Pointing Mortars, Charges, Ranges, Windage, Gunpowder, Ricochet,Projectiles, Labatory Stores, Platforms, Artillery Carriages and Machines, Rifle Cannon, Service of an 8 inch Howitzer mounted on a 24-pdr Seige Carriage and so much more... along with a special message from Fort Monroe, Va. dated 1863.

If you would like to have my orginal copy, please call with a generious offer. Research reveals this book is extremely valuable, so serious inqueries only. Remember this is an original, fifth edition. For a book that is over 146 years of age, the cover and contents is in supurb/outstanding condation.
