Data on cyanide in tailings had been collected from Witwatersrand, South Africa. It was thought that this information would help with the cyanide tailings disposal problems in North America, as little data had been collected there. The background and regulatory control on cyanide tailings was explained. Implemented monitering programs and cyanide observation results were outlined and analyzed. A general discussion was also included.
