Adriano de Almeida Gominho

Adriano de Almeida Gominho was the last Portuguese administrator of the municipality of Aileu, in East Timor, having returned to Portugal in 1975, two days before the outbreak of the civil war in this territory. In Portugal, he was nominated section head and head of the staff office of the civil aviation authority. In 1993, he retired from his public official post, and dedicated himself to writing about Cape Verde and Timor.

Adriano de Almeida Gominho foi o último administrador português do concelho de Aileu, em Timor, tendo regressado a Portugal em 1975, dois dias antes do início da guerra civil no território. Em Portugal exerceu as funções de chefe de secção, e posteriormente, as de chefe da Repartição de Pessoal da Aviação Civil. Em 1993, deixou o funcionalismo público, tendo-se aposentado e passando a dedicar-se a escrever sobre Cabo Verde e Timor.
