賴聲川

Born in the U.S. in 1954 and raised in America and Taiwan, Stan Lai began his creative career in Taiwan in 1984. His works are now performed all over China and the Chinese-speaking world, as well as in the West. His prolific output of over 40 produced original full-length plays include works that are acknowledged as masterworks of the contemporary Chinese language theatre: That Evening, We Performed Crosstalk (1985, in collaboration with Lee Li-chun and Li Kuo-hsiu) is credited with revitalizing the dying art of crosstalk (xiangsheng) in Taiwan. Secret Love in Peach Blossom Land (1986) has been called by the New York Times as “the most popular contemporary play in China.”

世界上最著名的華人戲劇家之一，「現今最頂尖的中文劇作家」（英國BBC）、「亞洲劇場導演之翹楚」（《亞洲週刊》）、「亞洲旗艦劇作家」（《中國日報》）、「世界上最著名的中文劇作家導演，至今超過35部，他的原創作品已經重新定義了我們如何思考這一門藝術。」（《百老匯世界》）。【表演工作坊】藝術總監、上海上劇場藝術總監，烏鎮戲劇節發起人之一及常任總監。

賴聲川三十九部原創編導戲劇作品包括拯救台灣相聲藝術的《那一夜，我們說相聲》，《紐約時報》譽為「當代中國最受歡迎的舞台劇」的《暗戀桃花源》，《中國時報》評為「一個時代的珍藏」的《寶島一村》，《中國日報》稱為「可能是有史以來最偉大的中文戲劇」的《如夢之夢》，以及「一種新型態，能對應二十一世紀帶來新壓力的劇場。」的《曾經如是》等。
