In this letter to Amos A. Phelps, Lewis Tappan says he is enclosing the resolution passed by the Executive Committee of the American and Foreign Anti-Slavery Society regarding Phelpśs decision to decline to accept the renewed appointment of the office of Corresponding Secretary of the society. Another page of the same sheet contains a ́true copy of record́ of the said resolution, signed by William Harned, ́Recording Secretary of the Committee,́ acknowledging Phelpśs declination to accept the office.
