Wholly engraved.
Plates produced through Blake's own process of relief etching in 1793, and printed in 1793. Date of printing confirmed by The William Blake archive.
This copy (America, copy C) may have been sewn with Visions of the daughters of Albion, copy C, and then separated. Bound by 1847 in half maroon morocco over marbled boards. Probably the copy offered by Henry G. Bohn (1847). Subsequently owned by Col. Henry D. Hughes (according to Keynes and Wolf), and Philip Hofer. Bequeathed by Hofer to Harvard in 1984. For complete provenance, see Bentley (p. 101).
18 plates on 10 leaves. 1st leaf (frontispiece) printed on verso only; 2nd leaf (t.p.) printed on recto only.
Order of leaves (Bentley numbers): 1-18. Includes plate e "Preludium".
Watermark: E & P; printed in bluish black and blue green inks; uncolored; no penned numbers, no etched numbers.
