Edition Notes

The Maharal - and his Beit Midrash, and here it is customary to contrast Maimonides' approach with the Maharal's approach and determine that the former is based on rational philosophy and the latter on the occult. It is justified to say that the way of Maimonides, in the matter of the types of the mitzvot, is more complex. And those who follow him who try to find in the mitzvah a moral-human value, the Maharal's opinion is that there is no mitzvah other than "the divine mind", and this includes the mitzvot, such as honoring father and mother, which the human mind requires .-- Translated from the back cover.
