"Why do I fall in love with the wrong men?"

Emma couldn't bear to sit idly by while her boyfriend and her best friend fell helplessly in love with each other.

So she headed for Dorset, only to get in an accident and find herself having the time of her life looking after the injured woman's three adorable children. Why did she have to spoil things by falling in love--truly in love this time--with the children's uncle Ross?

Was Emma fated to always love a man who only had eyes for someone else?

Hero: Ross Daumaury
Heroine: Emma Leigh

Work Description

It was a far cry from researching Thomas Hardy – which was what Emma had gone to Dorset to do – to looking after the three young Hart Children while their mother was in hospital. Nevertheless, Emma found it all much more fun than she had expected apart from the disapproving presence of the children’s uncle Ross. He had been described to her as ‘a mail chauvinist of the worse sort’ – and Emma had no reason to quarrel with that description! But, apart from that, what was the mystery surrounding this seemingly happy little family, and what was their connection with the shadowy figure of Leon Daumaury?
