Sobre a autora: Petala Parreira vive no Estado Espírito Santo perto da capital Vitória. Começou a se prostituir regularmente com 14 anos, incentivada por “amigos“ e primos, principalmente para pagar dívidas deles com o tráfico. Jamais considerava sua profissão um mero bico ou suplício, mas sempre procurava um desempenho bom, trabalhando com dedicação e amor, e sempre travou muitas amizades com outras prostitutas, também através da internet. Compartilhava das ONGs APROSMIG (Associação de prostitutas Minas Gerais) e “Hookers for Jesus” (Piranhas de Jesus) e conheceu biografias comoventes, lancinantes e cruciais de prostitutas de vários países e se interessou por seus destinos muitas vezes cruéis e tristes, mas às vezes também encorajadores. Publicou os relatos em comunidades de prostitutas na rede Orkut para dar voz a quem não tinha voz. Escreveu também sobre meninas sequestradas por milícias muçulmanas (Nuas nas mãos do Boko Haram) e sobre uma menina brasileira que foi forçada a ficar na prisão masculina e torturada e abusada com conivência e permissão da polícia (Sozinha na prisão masculina). Seu primeiro livro “Contos de Prostitutas” é uma coletânea com histórias de prostitutas forçadas e meninas prostituídas de todo o mundo.
Sempre tenta mostrar que prostitutas também são seres humanas com coração, sentimentos, desejos, sonhos e esperanças por uma vida melhor para si e principalmente por seus familiares. Outros temas são a violência, os abismos psicológicos na mente do ser humano e o sofrimento e a submissão das vítimas.
Petala Parreira (in English: Petal of wine) lives in a Brazilian port city in the state of Espirito Santo. She began to prostitute herself regularly at the age of 14 to pay off debts, pressured by “friends” and cousins. Her first work was the volume of short stories "Contos de Prostitutas" (Prostitutes are telling) with life reports of prostitutes, mainly forced prostitutes, from all over the world, which is now also published in German in an updated version.
Petala Parreira (auf deutsch: Blütenblatt des Weines) lebt in einer brasilianischen Hafenstadt im Bundesstaat Espirito Santo. Sie begann bereits mit 14 Jahren sich regelmäßig zu prostituieren, um Schulden zu bezahlen, gedrängt von “Freunden” und Cousins. Sie hat immer versucht, ihren Beruf gut und mit Hingabe zu erledigen, und immer waren ihr Freundschaften mit anderen Prostituierten wichtig, auch bald übers Internet. Nachdem sie die Organisation “Hookers for Jesus” (Nutten für Jesus) kennengelernt hatte, engagierte sie sich in ihr und lernte so auch Prostituierte aus anderen Ländern kennen mit ihren oftmals bewegenden und herzzerreißenden, oft grausamen, traurigen aber auch manchmal Mut machenden Geschichten. Zu ihren Büchern gehört die Erzählung eines thailändischen Mädchens, das durch den internationalen Mädchenhandel bis in die Fänge der berüchtigten russischen Mafia landet ebenso wie das Schicksal eines jungen Mädchens, das in Brasilien in ein Männergefängnis gesteckt wird oder der Bericht eines der Mädchen, das von der islamischen Terrororganisation Boko Haram gekidnappt wurde und dort unsägliche Misshandlungen über sich ergehen lassen musste. Ihr erstes Werk war der Erzählband „Contos de Prostitutas“ (Nutten erzählen) mit Lebensberichten von Prostituierten, hauptsächlich Zwangsprostituierten, aus aller Welt, der jetzt in aktualisierter Fassung auch auf Deutsch erscheint.
