With well over 13 years of Information and Library Systems experience, I have a background that is typical of someone with a much longer tenure in that field. I have the managerial experience and supervisory involvements in most of library operations:
Management:
Involved in library management and budgeting process, strategic planning and planning horizon, management of library teams, new buildings and building maintenance, supervising library staff; volunteers; and work study students.
Systems:
Networking, operating systems, and hardware and software maintenance along with technical and access library services tools, such as kiosks and printing server setup. I am experienced in project management of the integrated and automated library systems. I have been involved with the implementation of many different library automated systems, including Apollo automation system, Polaris system, Millennium, Symphony, SydneyPlus, and Cuadra systems. I am familiar with other library systems such as Voyager. I have a deep experience implementing RFID technology as well. As a part of the IT team, I provide backup support, participate in staff meetings, and other various IT projects. I am familiar with library standards, such as SUSHI, and protocols such as NSIP, as well as statistical reporting and Web logs analysis. I am familiar with Drupal content management system, script languages, RSS, XML Harvester, CSS, and MS Office software. I have work experience in discovery tools such as Summon, and Encore, and link resolvers such as SFX.
Services:
I have supervisory and hands-on experience to perform all library operations: Original and copy cataloging, acquisitions, serials, circulations, interlibrary loans, and reference. I supervise electronic resource workflows, including its integration with other organization’s financial systems, and related staff responsibilities. I have managed the Blackboard Learn System as well. I have been involved in the implementation and operation of various staff databases, software, tools, and online services such as OCLC, EBSCOhost, EBSCO A-Z List, etc.; oversees and implements various public databases and online services such as ATLA RI and ATLAS, JSTOR. I am familiar with electronic resources licensing and report gathering; maintenance and upkeep of the library website; meeting the automation support needs of the library including CMS, SpringShare, MarcEdit, Udutu, and other software installation and training. I provide advising on selection of software, databases, eBook platforms, and other electronic resources; participate in the training of students, faculty and staff in online/digital resources and research methods and other Public Services duties. Work experience on metadata, advanced interlibrary loan and document delivery systems, and many of its licensed products such as ILLiad, and Relais.
