James Everett Livingston (born on January 12, 1940, in Towns, Telfair County, Georgia) is a retired United States Marine Corps officer. He was awarded the United States' highest military decoration, the Medal of Honor, for heroic actions in 1968 during the Vietnam War. Livingston served on active duty in the Marine Corps over 33 years before retiring on September 1, 1995. His last assignment was the Commanding General of Marine Forces Reserve in New Orleans, Louisiana.
